Govt goes gung-ho on $ 500m Bond

Despite the Opposition threats and warning in writing by UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to joint lead managers, the Government is proceeding with the US$ 500 million Bond Issue.

The three joint lead managers JP Morgan, HSBC and Barclays are busy preparing the documentation and working with diligence for the mega Bond issue. Road shows have been earmarked in September in London, New York and Singapore to close the issue by early or mid October.
