Lanka to make debut at Global SMEs 2007 in Malaysia

A Twenty member delegation comprising officials of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) and the Sri Lanka – Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be leaving shortly to participate at the 8th International Strategic Partnership & Business Networking Trade Fair for SMEs – Global SMEs 2007 scheduled for September 6-8, 2007 at MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.


This is a historical event for the Sri Lanka – Malaysia Business Council as this is the first occasion the Council is participating at an Exhibition and will showcase Sri Lankan products under the banner ‘Sri Lanka Pavilion.’
According to the organizers, this year Taiwan, Vietnam and Sri Lanka will be the main focus for the visitors at Global SMEs 2007.


The Council has made all arrangements for Sri Lankan companies participating at the above fair to meet the representatives from Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia, Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Malay Chamber of Commerce. The meetings will be facilitated by the Sri Lanka High Commission in Malaysia.


The delegation will be led by Mr. Brian Angunawala, Chairman, Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) and will comprise Dr. Rohitha Silva, President, Sri Lanka – Malaysia Business Council and Managing Director IDAC (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. Tilak N. Gunawardane, Attorney- at- law and Dr. Chris Nonis, Chairman, Mackwoods Limited, Ni-Cey International (Pvt) Ltd, Demeco Enterprises, Esjay Electromac (Pvt) Ltd, Sisara Data Management (Pvt) Ltd, Kingki (Pvt) Ltd, Maximus (Pvt) Ltd, Mermaid Jewellers, Janet Ayurvedics (Pvt) Ltd, Thilini Soft Toys, Mackwoods Limited, Bio Extract (Pvt) Ltd, Western Air Ducts Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, Graphic Systems (Pvt) Ltd, Macksons Paint Industries (Pvt) Ltd, Orient Electric Systems (Pvt) Ltd, Scia South Ceylon Industrial Agency and EDB will be the stall holders at the Exhibition.
