JVP calls meeting to decide on supporting government at budget

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) politburo is expected to summon a meeting of its Central Committee to decide on how the party should react to the government’s third budget, scheduled to be presented in Parliament in November this year.

The meeting will centre on whether the JVP should support the government during the next budget.

This year, unlike the previous year, the JVP will not submit any proposals for the forthcoming budget despite the party having submitted its proposals to the Ministry of Finance last year.
