The NTrust Corporate Quiz organized by Nations Trust Bank was held for the second consecutive year and took place at the Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand, Colombo, with thirty seven teams drawn from Sri Lanka’s corporate elite battling it out to gain supremacy. The teams constituted five members each, faced a barrage of questions that tested them through five different rounds covering the following topics; About Nations Trust Bank, Financial Markets, Current Affairs, Sports and Entertainment.

The contest started with round one being tied by Aitken Spence and John Keells Holdings with Brandix being placed 3rd. Round Two on Financial Markets saw KPMG tied with JKH Consumer, with Brandix sneaking through to cumulative lead position. David Peiris Motor Company turned in a stunning third round on Current Affairs to gain full marks and take the round, although Aitken Spence and Brandix were tied on the cumulative lead. Round Four on Sports saw further challenges emerging with Akbar Brothers and LOLC tying as round winners, although Aitken Spence, starting to scent the quarter million rupees cash first prize continued to push towards the overall winning position,. Round 5 on Entertainment saw a last burst coming from Hayleys Industrial and Virtusa but the champions from Aitken Spence prevailed to take the top slot. LOLC was placed second and walked away with one hundred thousand rupees as prize money.

The event was a smashing success and constituted an audio visual treat with the participants having an enjoyable evening with a number of prizes and surprises in between rounds that complemented the main prizes followed by cocktails and entertainment. “It is our intention to make this an annual event as it forges closer links with our customers, in an unusual manner where competitiveness reigns, in a fun setting. We are well on the way to making the Nations Trust Quiz an event that will be a highlight in every Corporate calendar,” NTB Director and CEO Zulfiqar Zavahir said.

“The Bank has established a valuable proposition in the corporate market attracting the country’s top drawer names through a combined approach of product excellence and superior relationship management” said Zavahir. He added that whilst making vast strides in the Corporate and Treasury arena, its presence in the Retail, Leasing and Credit Card businesses too had grown exceptionally well, with customer value creation being one of the key drivers.
