Nexus Loyalty Card Points to secure treatment at Nawaloka

The Nexus Network from the John Keells Group with more than 34,000 active users in their fast-growing Loyalty Card service has made another new value addition to their customer base with their recent tie up with Nawaloka Hospitals.

Commenced in 2000, the Nexus Loyalty Card now has tie-ups with more than 50 partners in a diverse range of industries, including several companies within the John Keells Group. Some of the partners of the Nexus Network include Keells Super, Odel, Dialog GSM, Abans, Hameedia and now Nawaloka Hospital.

A Nexus cardholder can collect and redeem Nexus points from any Nexus outlet by simply producing their card at any Nexus outlet which number at over 250 island–wide. A percentage of the transaction value will be awarded as points through the POS machine installed at the outlets; the percentage varies from merchant to merchant.

Pioneers in the healthcare industry, Nawaloka Hospitals have gone from strength to strength in their 22 years of service. Established in 1985, it was Sri Lanka’s first, full-fledged private hospital equipped with an Intensive Care Unit. They have continued to set the standard for private healthcare in the country and in 1998 won the National Quality Award – the only hospital to earn this distinction. This was followed by obtaining ISO Certification in the year 2000, during which they also acquired the coveted World Health Organization/ United Nations Children’s Fund (WHO/UNCF) award for the most ‘Baby-friendly’ hospital.

Nexus cardholders can collect points when using the Hospital’s By-pass Cardiac Services, Angiograms, Angioplastic and Lasik services. The points earned will be equal to 1% of the transaction value, and cardholders can redeem these points at any Nexus outlet island wide.
“The reason for the success of the Nexus Loyalty program has been due to the convenient method of collecting / redeeming Nexus points and the wide choice of outlets given to the customer when redeeming their points,” Nawaloka Hospitals Director Marketing Harshith Dharmadasa said.
Continuing to provide world-class healthcare services to the country over time, Nawaloka Hospital’s array of services has expanded to include treatment for IVF, mammography and laparoscopy.

A trailblazer in Sri Lanka’s healthcare industry, Nawaloka imported the first CT scanner to the country in 1987. By 1992, the first Mammography Unit was installed and the very next year saw the introduction of minimally-invasive Laparoscopic surgery.

In 1994, Nawaloka pioneered Cardiac Catheterization, as well as becoming the first private hospital to open a Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery Unit. In 1995, Nawaloka introduced the very first Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner to Sri Lanka. Laser Eye surgery (Lasik treatment takes only 30 minutes to bring back your normal vision and to avoid wearing spectacles or contact lenses) was introduced in 2005. An In Vitro Fertilization package instituted in collaboration with their Indian affiliates followed which has now become extremely successful. In 2006, construction of the Hospital’s new building equipped with ultra-modern surgical units commenced.

This also marked the initiation of the networking of all their hospital systems into the totally integrated ‘Nawaloka Online’. The latest arrival in May 2007 was the state of the art equipment to its Heart Centre, namely the Allura Zper FD10 flat panel cardiac catheterization laboratory with electro physiology facilities from Philips, the world leader’s in the field of cardiology for delivering unmatched patient care for cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures, at a cost of Rs.120 million. In the near future the new generation 64 Slice /0.4 sec cardiac CT with 3D images enabling visualization of coronary arteries with heart beats that exceed 100 beats per minute will be a reality at Nawaloka Hospitals. Redeeming Nexus points is extremely easy.

Each Nexus Point has a value of 1 rupee therefore, 2000 points equals Rs. 2000/-. If a Nexus cardholder is settling a bill of Rs. 3000/-, they can request the cashier to take Rs. 2000/- from the Nexus card and will only have to make a cash or credit payment of Rs. 1000/-. Cardholders can begin redeeming points once they collect a minimum of 20 points. All these features make Nexus the most popular Loyalty Card in the island. The association they have with established companies such as “Nawaloka Hospital” gives them the edge over any other Loyalty program.
