NTB official banker to Lions Multiple District 306


At a formal ceremony held at the Nations Trust Bank head office, the International Association of Lions in Sri Lanka recognised Nations Trust Bank as their Official Banker. In this capacity the Bank will partner the Lions Multiple District 306 for the Lionistic Year commencing July 2007 to June 2008. The Bank in its role as financial advisor to the Association will provide continued advice and management of the investments received by the Association. In the spirit of this partnership the Bank will also sponsor key events in the Lions Calendar, namely the ISAAME Forum 2007, the Golden Jubilee Celebrations and the Annual Convention of Multiple District 306 which will be held during the period.“The Lions Movement has had a long illustrious history in serving the people of Sri Lanka, particularly through their projects to restore sight to the needy. Nations Trust Bank is indeed happy to be associated as the Official Banker to this forum and function as their Financial Services partner, as they commence their projects for their tenure,” NTB Deputy Chief Executive Officer Iftikar Ahamed said.


The Lions Movement in Sri Lanka created history this year with the appointment of Mr Mahendra Amarasuriya as the President of Lions International. Mr Amarasuriya is the first Sri Lankan to hold such an esteemed international office and his appointment brings with it significant attention and opportunities to the Sri Lankan Lions. Lion Sarath de Fonseka, Council Chairman, Multiple District 306 added, “This period is both a unique and important year in the Lions Calendar, with numerous projects and activities planned to help us in our mission to be of service. Being a bank recognised for their innovative services and committed customer care, we are certain that our partnership with Nations Trust Bank will no doubt be a propitious one” he concluded.
