War drums echo

Peace hopes diminished further in the last two days, with the LTTE Political Commissar and the government Defence Secretary beating war drums with uncannily similar statements in Trincomalee and the Wanni.


Speaking to a delegation of southern Christian clergy in the Tigers’ de facto capital, Kilinochchi, LTTE Political Wing Chief S.P. Tamilselvan said that the organisation’s patience was wearing thin and the government would live to regret its recent offensives against Tiger positions in the north and east.
