A day
to hug your Accountant!!

Hug Your Accountant Day proposed in UK is a light-hearted campaign
but promoters claim it has a serious message behind it.
Accounting software company KashFlow has written to a number of
businesses, including the Confederation of British Industry, calling
for October 25th to be made an official day for bosses to get to
know their accountants.
It says the day would ensure both bosses and accountants understood
better the pressures each other face.
KashFlow says bringing accountants closer to their business owners
will ensure accounts are filed on time, resulting in fewer fines
for small business owners.
Duane Jackson, Managing Director of KashFlow said: “A large
number of small business owners do not realise the importance of
keeping accurate financial records until it is too late.”
Companies House has published statistics which show that in the
financial year 2004-05, more than 200,000 private and limited companies
submitted late accounts and received a fine.
Accountancy Magazine called the stunt “even more bizarre”
than calls to hug hoodies.
