rating agencies issue warning
As
the Government this week kicked off the marketing of its controversial
US$ 500 million Bond issue in the US, two rating agencies
have given their ratings whilst issuing caution.
Two rating agencies Fitch and Standard & Poors (S&P)
gave BB- and B+ ratings respectively to the 10 year Sovereign
Bond issue this week. However, their statements also contained
great concerns on a range of issues such as the impact of
the ethnic conflict, fiscal management and macro economic
fundamentals despite commending the past resilience of the
country.
