Seminar on “How to align Pay with performance”

Corporate management consultants are organising a seminar on “Variable Pay - How to align Pay with performance” to be held on October 31, 2007 from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Colombo Hilton.

The above seminar will be conducted by Human Resources professional Mr. Dinesh Weerakkody Managing Director Cornucopia Lanka Ltd.

Variable compensation is becoming a common method for rewarding employees while linking their performance more closely to the employer’s financial success. Variable pay is an innovative way to bring wages and salaries in line with companies’ market performance. Most compensation systems do not pay for performance. Few systems encourage commitment to the organization. And while they can send powerful messages to employees, about the kind of organization they work for and the skills and behavior it values, most of those messages and systems are uninspiring. In fact, they often inhibit organisations and employees from achieving their highest levels of performance. Again and again, surveys point out employees are not motivated by current pay and reward systems, in fact, they don’t even believe their performance has any influence on pay!

This seminar will focus on how ‘Variable Pay Systems’ could be incorporated in a Sri Lankan concept and its merit to the organisation and its employers.
