CIM Knowledge Reel to talk on Advertising


The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka Region has organized a workshop under the CIM Knowledge Reel series, titled “Advertising: Bridging Theory and Practice” which will be held on October 18, at Park Premier, Excel World from 3pm -7pm.

The Institute is honored to have three of the most sought after personalities in the adverting industry; namely, Mr. Thayalan Bartlett, The Chief Executive Officer of JWT, Mr. Russell Miranda, Executive Creative Director of Grant McCann-Erickson, Mr. Lalith Sumanasiri, Associate Director- Strategic Planning and Media of Phoenix Ogilvy to conduct this workshop.


Advertising: Bridging Theory and Practice is the second programme to be conducted under the CIM Knowledge Reel series and an opportunity open exclusively to CIM Student Members. The programme is designed to acquaint the CIM Students with the advertising industry, and will cover the three primary co-processes of advertising, i.e. client servicing, creative and media planning.


The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region, has initiated several programmes, pitched at different levels to cater to the diverse needs of its stakeholders; namely, Fellows and Members of The Institute, Chartered Marketers and the CIM student members, who represent the majority of The Institute’s membership.


The CIM Knowledge Reel series has been initiated by The Institute with the objective of giving an insight into marketing in practice, thereby upgrading the competencies and practical know-how of CIM graduates.

By organizing these workshops, the Institute also intends assisting students to better comprehend the knowledge that they gather in the classroom and obtain higher grades at the CIM Examinations.
