JWT Colombo produces creative ‘Young Tigers’

JWT is continuously keeping itself up to date with global advancements in brand communications, via outstanding creative expression and strategic effectiveness. JWT’s concentration on training is legendary and has long since been considered an industry benchmark. ‘We’re a permanently dissatisfied Agency. Exposure to global minds, inspiration, the re-kindling and focusing of creative passion is important. It plays a key role in our relentless pursuit to raise the creative bar’, said Chandini Rajaratnam, ECD of JWT Colombo. Once again, JWT Colombo marked its presence at two of the most acclaimed and anticipated international training workshops within the network this year, sending Natasha Gunawardena, Creative Group Head, to the 8th Asian Pacific Creative Skills Workshop and Brandon Ingram, Senior Copywriter, to the Young Tigers Southeast Asia Workshop.

The 8th Asian Pacific Creative Skills Workshop was hosted in Shanghai this year from the 26th to the 28th of July, with over 12 nations and 40 participants in attendance. Some of the most inspiring and influential global personalities within the JWT network, namely Craig Davis – Chief Creative Officer JWT Worldwide, Sheung Yan Lo Regional ECD, Northeast Asia, Pinit Chantaprateep Deputy Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Bangkok, Tay Guan Hin Regional ECD, Southeast Asia and Guy Murphy – Chair of the IPA Strategy Group and Worldwide Planning Director, flew down to spend time with the delegates.

Meanwhile in Phuket, Thailand from the 3rd to 8th September, the 27 Young Tigers of the JWT Network were introduced to JWT’s new TTB. Thompson Total Branding has been the most effective creative vs. strategy tool the industry has yet seen.JWT has taken it one step further making it sharper, more focused and calling it Consumer Engagement Planning thus making its results on communication, outstanding.

The workshop was lead by Beth Tordesillas – JWT’s head of Training and she was joined by Aparna Guruprasad – Regional JWT Planner for HSBC, Kiran Vaswani – Regional JWT Planner for Knorr, Christopher Orcutt – Head of Planning JWT Bangkok, Tay Guan Hin – Regional ECD Southeast Asia, Paul Davies – Global Head of RMG Connect and Mark Webster – CEO JWT Tokyo and Head of JWT Talent.

Both Workshops were designed to complement the understanding of the ‘JWT Way’ by helping the participants discover new ways of thinking, new sources of inspiration, and new methods of execution. Speakers ranging from photographers, film editors, entrepreneurs, fashion magazine editors, art museum curators, architects and DJs to digital experts shared their experiences and life learnings with the participants, giving them much appreciated tips on craft and more importantly, a fresh perspective into human insights.
