Ceylon Chamber gets Canadian expertise for SMEs, Regional Enterprises

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Canadian Executive Service Organisation (CESO), which has been providing services in Sri Lanka for more than thirty years. The MOU was signed to expand CESO services to as many companies as possible. CESO is a non-profit, private sector body funded by the Canadian Government and Canadian Trade and Industry. CESO sends mostly retired Canadian consultants to help developing countries.

Presently, more than 2,700 distinguished Volunteer Advisors (VAs) are serving on the CESO roster and they are sharing their professional experience by serving as mentors, advisors and trainers.

The CESO Sri Lanka office has taken this initiative to have a proactive outreach among regional enterprises and SMEs by signing an agreement with the CCC.
CESO Volunteers can provide a range of consultancy services for projects in various fields.

The services of CESO Volunteer Consultants (VC’s) are provided free of charge to the clients. CESO pays its consultants air fare. It is the responsibility of the client to pay for board and lodging for the duration of the consultancy, local transport, office facilities and any other job related services.

The services of CESO consultants are available even for a group of entrepreneurs from the same sector. According to the CESO Sri Lanka office and the Ceylon Chamber representative, this facility would give more benefits for SMEs and regional enterprises. It would be possible for entrepreneurs to increase their productivity and market reach by using Canadian expertise.
