NSB rewards excellent children of employees

As part of its responsible, ethical and sustainable banking practices, National Savings Bank recently felicitated and awarded exam successes and extracurricular achievements of the children of the employees.
The Chairman, Board of Directors and the management together with the award winners and their parents participated.

As this is the first ever felicitation and award ceremony of exam successes and extracurricular achievements of the children that was inaugurated by the management, achievers from around the country were awarded with scholarships of Rs. 10,000. The Bank expects to expand the concept in the future.

Initially, students who perform well in extracurricular activities, five students who excelled in Grade Five scholarship examination, 36 students who performed outstandingly at the G.C.E. (O/L) examination and 33 students who did extremely well at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination received scholarships.

The achievers were selected upon the following criteria: Their performance at relevant government examinations, being a local representative at an international event, excellence in sports, esthetic and co-curricular actives and extracurricular activities at the national level.

“The challenge of banking in the virtual era is not just to generate a sound financial performance, but to perform outside of the balance sheet. To breed sustainable and steady dividends for different segments of the NSB community, but specially for those who are well achievers, for those who should be admired,” a NSB spokesman said.
