Madushan, Malinda steer David Pieris Motors to victory

Group newcomers, David Pieris Motor Co. and Savinda Enterprises remained unbeaten, registering their 3rd successive wins in the ongoing Ceylon Cold Stores sponsored, “Elephant Lemonade” challenge trophy, MCA Division “D” 50-overs League Tournament 2008, recently.
Fernando’s, Madushan (65 runs) and Malinda (5 for 35) steered DPMC to a close 11-runs win over HSBC “A”.

In a low scoring game, Savinda Enterprises scraped through to a 2-wicket win over Christy Lanka. Bowlers called the shots, as both teams struggled for runs.

A notable bowling performance by M. Wickramasinghe (5/40) gave Dimo a creditable 4-wicket win over Ceylinco Group “D”.

A fighting innings by number 8 batsman, Kevin Anthony (55 in 40 balls including 6 fours and 3 sixes) and fiery bowling by paceman Thilan Kannangara (4/24 in 8 overs) gave Hayleys Group a satisfying 157 runs over Airport & Aviation.
