Mercantile Tennis


The Mercantile Tennis Tournament organised by the Sri Lanka Tennis Association is being worked off from December 7 at the SLTA Courts, Green Path, Colombo.


The Companies taking part are NDB Bank, Seylan Bank, Amana Investments, Janet Cosmetics Pvt. Ltd, Finlays Agriculture, FRP Services & Co.Ltd, Technique Research (pvt.)ltd, Nation Trust Bank, DFCC Bank, HSBC Bank, Sampath Bank, MAS Intimates Pvt.Ltd, Aitken Spence, Green Tech consultants, SJMS Associates and Capital Maharaja.


The events: Men’s singles (Div. 1,2 & 3 ), men’s doubles, women’s singles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles, senior over-35 singles and doubles, senior over 45 singles and doubles, senior over-55 singles and doubles.


Over 75 entries have been received and an over-55 event has been introduced for the first time. Last year’s winner was HSBC Bank.


Avantha Suranimala has been appointed the referee for the tournament and the tournament director is Neville Fernando. The tournament has been sponsored by the NDB Bank for the last five years.
