Army and LTTE suffer casualties in sporadic battles


Sporadic battles that broke out in the south western areas of Adampan left at least 20 LTTE cadres killed and over 30 wounded, Media Centre for National Security said.


Sporadic clashes between the Army and the LTTE broke out at around 11.30 a.m. yesterday and went on till around 3.30 p.m. Three soldiers were killed in the battle while seven others sustained injuries.


Clashes were also reported in the Muhamalai forward defence line at around 5.00 p.m. last evening. One soldier was reportedly killed in the confrontation.
