Nawaloka Hospitals collaborates with CMC in AIDS awareness promotion

Nawaloka Hospitals, the leaders amongst private sector healthcare providers, initiated yet another CSR program when they collaborated with the Colombo Municipal Council to promote AIDS awareness amongst the general public within the Colombo Municipal area.

Attractively designed posters, banners and pennants were displayed at strategic locations, urging the public to do their part to promote awareness of this dreaded disease and control its spread. A colorfully illustrated poster with very informative and philosophical phrases has caught the eyes of many on the roads and those visiting the hospital .

“We feel it is our duty as a leader in the healthcare sector to promote awareness regarding major health issues that affect the general public. In recent times Nawaloka Hospitals have conducted a series of CSR awareness programs on a variety of important health issues such as Osteoporosis and Diabetes which have been extremely well received by the public,” Nawaloka Hospitals Director and General Manager Professor Lal Chandrasena.

He said that although Sri Lanka has been classified by the World Aids Foundation as a low prevalence country, “we should not be complaisant with these observations and strive to take all possible measures and ways to prevent the spreading of this deadly disease.

“As a responsible corporate entity, Nawaloka Hospitals will continue its mission by conducting similar public awareness programs and health clinics in an effort to promote better amongst our people,” he added.
