Staring corruption in the eye
‘People should come on to the street and demand to end corruption rather demand for jobs. If we have a country without corruption people can enjoy more job opportunities’ was the advice from the National Integrity Awards 2007 winner S.K. Liyanage. This award was presented to him in recognition of his efforts in fighting corruption for more than 33 years as a civil servant. He received the award from Dr.Kiran Bedi, first woman police officer in India who went on to become Inspector General of Prisons.
