Staring
corruption in the eye

People
should come on to the street and demand to end corruption rather
demand for jobs. If we have a country without corruption people
can enjoy more job opportunities was the advice from the
National Integrity Awards 2007 winner S.K. Liyanage. This award
was presented to him in recognition of his efforts in fighting
corruption for more than 33 years as a civil servant. He received
the award from Dr.Kiran Bedi, first woman police officer in
India who went on to become Inspector General of Prisons. Here
Liyanage, with his award, addresses the gathering at the awards
ceremony. Liyanage is watched by his wife andchief guest Bedi.
