Let
there be peace

They
witnessed the start of the war, which has devastated this country,
often described as the ‘Pearl of the Indian ocean’.
Yesterday, it appeared as if these two elderly Buddhist devotees,
with their hands clasped together, were yearning for lasting
peace, at the Kelaniya Temple, to mark the first Poya of 2008,
