Embark’s commitment recognised by the World Animal Day website

Embark, Otara Gunewardene’s personal Corporate Social Responsibility initiative (CSR), was recently featured on the website for World Animal Day. This recognition for Embark’s grooming day is a significant achievement for the CSR programme that was initiated last year. The fun filled grooming day – held to mark World Animal Day and Embark’s commitment to the welfare of animals – was an interesting event that saw many pet owners bring their dogs in for a full medical checkup by qualified veterinarians, as well as a grooming package consisting of a shampoo and dry, hair trimming and nail-clipping for a nominal fee. The event saw many dignitaries and volunteers participating in the fun filled day, including US Ambassador Robert O Blake, and Rohita Rajapakse. Till date, Embark has successfully treated over 1350 community dogs under the stringent standards of the Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate and Release programme (CNVR) at their field clinics.
