Lumbini falls to Sonier’s spin

Left-arm leg-spinner Sonier Perera with excellent bowling figures of 11 for 91 steered President’s College, Rajagiriya to their third outright win by an innings and eight runs over Lumbini MV at the Mahara Prison ground yesterday. After their first innings score of 231 led by Sanath Silva’s brilliant 118, Perera came to destroy the Lumbini’s batting by capturing 6 for 17 in the first innings at the end of day one. Forced to follow on, Lumbini’s batting succumbed again to Perera’s wiles as he captured 5 for 74.
