| With
a spate of bombs exploding countrywide large hoardings have
come up in the city warning people to beware. Previously such
warnings were confined to public notices, posters, or via electronic
media. However, given the unprecedented nature and frequency
of bomb explosions, the authorities have felt it wise to have
the warning on large billboards. The Bottom Line photographer
Nissanka Wijeratne captured this billboard just outside the
General Cemetery in Borella close to a police checkpoint. The
location and placement perhaps is a grim reminder to people
where they would end up if they are not observant. |
