DFCC Vardhana Bank signs MoU with Sampath Bank to support future Credit Card operations

DFCC Vardhana Bank (DVB), the everyday banking unit of DFCC Bank, the shining star of development banking, yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sampath Bank to provide DVB with the credit card processing facilities necessary for its upcoming launch of credit card services.

This MoU is the first step in providing the extra advantage of credit card services to DVB’s fast growing customer base. The further cementing of its partnership with Sampath Bank also accommodates improved learning by DVB in the important credit card sector, which may eventually contribute to the 4-year old DVB playing a leadership role in this sector.Participating in the signing from DFCC Vardhana Bank was Managing Director, L.G. Perera, Chief Operating Officer, Lakshman Silva, and Head of Personal Financial Services, Manoj Algama, while Sampath Bank was represented by Managing Director, Anil Amarasuriya, Chief Operating officer, Aravinda Perera, and Deputy General Manager – Systems Development, E-Banking and Card Centre, Ranjith Narangoda.Speaking at the agreement signing, Sampath Bank’s Managing Director, Anil Amarasuriya, noted that Sampath Bank had helped many banks launch their credit card facilities and is prepared to support DVB with any facilities and training needed to make DVB’s undertaking a success.

He went on to say: “We are delighted to partner DFCC Vardhana Bank to support their credit card facility. We have always enjoyed a good working relationship with them and we hope that the credit card support services we will be providing will continue to maintain this strong existing relationship.”Speaking at the agreement signing, DFCC Vardhana Bank’s Managing Director, L.G.
