Annual Fellowship Nite

To conclude the annual sessions of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects a gala fellowship nite was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Galadari Hotel, where there was a predominance of the youth in the field of architecture who are among those who qualified recently or final year students from the institute. The evening certainly was a huge success if one was to judge by the crowded dance floor with music provided by Ishan Bahar and his band and another troupe of dancers who showed their prowess in the Latin American Dance forms, besides participating in a few fun filled and hilarious games.

The request from the organising committee called for smart casual preferably in black, and it was the men who for the most part wore black to make a perfect backdrop to the colour the women wore in many variations of dress, which ranged from the saree to the ethnic and western styles. The saree wearers showed a preference seemed for exotic and striking prints, with those in dress opting for basic black, given glamour and colour with jewellery or accessories.

Some of the established architects of course put the glamour and glitz in focus in rich and varied clothes from black and silver to diamonds and pearls.
