CJ to chastise teachers

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Sarath N. Silva said that he is not too impressed with the union action of the teachers. He added that he is waiting till the matter came before courts so that he could teach them a lesson. “When we were at school we would have been given a chastisement of six lashings if we did not come to school, even if we fell sick. Now I am waiting for those teachers who had gone off sick leave to come before me to give them a good six lashings,” he said addressing the inauguration of a special court to deal with consumer affairs related offences.
