Wines,
cheeses and asparagus
What better combination can one ask for? Is it possible? Of course
it is, says a spokesperson of the Trans Asia Hotel. For between
the dates of March 23 31, in the Hotels Beira Lounge
and beyond, an amazing spread of some classic dishes will be served
from action stations. Freshly baked baguettes, cold meats, boutique
cheeses, grapes, wine by the glass or bottle from a range of new
and old world wines will be yours to enjoy!
Made
popular in France - dishes like Beef Bourguignonne, Coq au vin,
French Onion Soup, Pepper Steaks made a la minute, Roast Pork, and
tarts baked with different cheese fillings will be the highlight
of the evening. Each dish will be complemented by the fresh home-grown
asparagus grilled, baked and gratinated. A Salad Bar will be included,
and the choice will certainly lend a difference to the norm. The
Beira Lounge will come alive with the extended area taking on the
likes of a cafe with action stations and seating at the lobby level
to enjoy it all. For desserts are a variety of mousses chilled
and baked, a variety of tarts, gateaux, and French pastries making
it an exquisite ending to a grand meal.
The
cheeses will comprise Brie, Camembert, Emmental, Gouda, Roquefort,
Boursin to name a few, while white asparagus will be served with
Hollandaise, brown butter or mousseline and smoked marinated salmon
with melba toast. From the Charcutiere a selection of cold meats
like Ham, Pastrami Terrines, Pates, Salami and Smoked Sausages will
be included in the menu!
The
selection of wines will be Australian, French, Chilean, Californian,
South African, French Vintage, Italian, Champagne and sparkling
wine. The Sommeliers selection will have New Zealand, Spanish,
German and Austrian Wines. Director Catering Augustus de
Hoedt is very excited as it is one of his creations, and never done
before. So folks, expect to be spoilt for choice and make sure you
have a reservation. For something different, for sharing with family
and friends, a nice long evening of good food, cheese and wine,
is soon to be a reality at the Trans Asia Hotel.
