Chamil slices his way to fifth national title

Chamil Cooray retained the men’s singles title for the fifth consecutive year at the 40th National Carrom Championships concluded at the CFSL headquarters, Reid Avenue.

Cooray beat Nishantha Fernando 6/25, 25/12, 25/15 in a closely contested final.

In the women’s category last year’s champion Nadeeshani Rupasinghe lost to Yasika Rahubaddha in straight set, 25/2, 25/12.
