Seminar on Improving Productivity in Offices


A seminar on “Improving Productivity in Offices” organised by the Association for International Standards (AIS) affiliated to the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be held on April 3, from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. at the Chamber premises at Navam Mawatha, Colombo 2.

Organisers said that the current context of the economy and the activities taking place in the administrative centres, productivity has emerged as a vital role. “Productivity in office is equally important as productivity in all other areas,” they added.

The seminar will provide participants with an ideal opportunity to discuss how a person could improve productivity levels in an organisation and how to measure the improvement through the eyes of an expert.

It is targeted at middle managers, office managers, office administrators, secretaries and clerical staff in offices who contribute to improving office productivity. The programme covers Introduction to Productivity, Measurement of Productivity,

Strategies for Improving Productivity, Productivity of Office Space, Productivity of Staff, Productivity of Office Equipment, Productivity of Meetings and Office Improvements.

The seminar will be conducted by Malik Perera, Managing Director / Senior Consultant of Swiss Advantage Systems (Pvt) Ltd. Perera has carried out consultancy assignments for over 50 organisations in Sri Lanka including SriLankan Airlines and Singer Sri Lanka Ltd in implementing quality improvement systems.

With over 30 years of work experience in manufacturing / textile industry and having held senior management positions in many organisations in Sri Lanka and India, he has over 10 years work experience as a consultant in implementing quality systems in all sectors covering Textile , Apparel , Printing, Freight Forwarding, Shipping , Finance and service organisations.
