Sri Lanka Telecom pays Pooja for its customers

By Lakna Paranamanna
Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) in a new venture for its customer service, introduced a new face in Pooja Umashankar, the much loved Sri Lanka-born, Indian film star, of Sinhala films such as Angelika, Piyabanne Aasai and Yahaluvo, the Brand Ambassador for SLT Broadband productions. Pooja is SLT’s first Brand Ambassador. This connection is to create awareness of SLT’s Broadband services.

Chief Marketing & Sales Officer, SLT, Ajantha Seneviratne, said that their choice of Pooja as their Brand Ambassador was because of her wide appeal in Sri Lanka combined with her love for this country.

“We have also compared what we do at SLT with what she does in her job, and realised that both parties travel the same path; maintaining the best quality and performance,” said Seneviratne.

“We provide our customers with the best services of international standard. We have taken our country to all corners of the globe through our services,” said Ajantha. He said that their main motive is to make SLT the leading telecommunications hub of Asia.

SLT is well known for its quality and performance. Also, SLT provides endless possibilities for its users, such as voice, data, video and mobile that are incomparable. He also added that they are working to enhance their services, so that customers will enjoy the latest technology.

“We are hoping to introduce Interactive TV that can be viewed through broadband connections,” added Ajantha.

Pooja is an actress with an international appeal, which was also one of the reasons we chose Pooja as our Brand Ambassador. “Pooja is the perfect ambassador for our brands, as she is an enthusiastic user of broadband services and that makes her the ideal spokesperson for SLT Broadband services and products,” said Ajantha.

“I am very happy to be a part of this programme, as SLT is the biggest and best telecommunications provider in Sri Lanka. I will do my very best to carry it across,” said Pooja. “I personally don’t endorse productions that I am not satisfied with. Even in India, I have been approached by many companies for this sort of opportunities. But I have point-blank refused, because I am not happy with the services they provide,” said Pooja.

“As a customer, I look into three factors, when I use or obtain the services of a certain production. It has to be reliable, provided with speed and it has to economically manageable. As all three of them have been met by the SLT, I consider myself very proud to be a part of their mission and their vision,” added Pooja.
