Coca-cola rewards back to school mega consumer promotion winners


Coca-Cola Beverages Sri Lanka Limited the foremost sparking and still drinks manufacturer in the country recently rewarded two winners who managed to secure Rs. 100,000/- each from the on-going “Coke Back to School Promotion.”

T.M Ranjani Menike from Walapane, Nuwara-Eliya and A.M Ravi Bandara from Kottawa were the first two lucky recipients of this promotion.

“We won the prize from a 1.5ltr Coke bottle which my husband opened. With the prize money we are planning to make an investment on self employment. Coke is a house-hold product for us and compared with the other brands we like the taste of Coke.” said Ranjani Menike a mother of a 14 year old son and a 10 year old daughter.

Ravi Bandara the other winner who runs his own business on manufacturing pallet bases said, “We always have Coke in our refrigerator. It gives a very refreshing feeling after a tired days work. I won this prize from a Coke 1.5ltr bottle. I’m planning to buy two shops with the money and hopefully develop my entrepreneurial skills. Coke should be thanked for conducting such promotions. Coke is unique and tasty.”

This promotion is for 1.5 ltr Coke, Fanta, Sprite and Portello PET Plastic bottles and whoever finds cash or gift print inside the closure of the bottle will be eligible for a prize. There are over 100,000 prizes to be won in this promotion which is taking place during the exciting December’ 07- January ‘ 08 festive season and will be present through all supermarkets and general trade outlets across the island except in the Northern Province.

A representative of Coca-Cola Sri Lanka said that upon launching this promotion, they have found out that certain bottles have been tampered with ‘Fake Rs 100,000/- Scholarship Under lines’ and requested the customers to be extra vigilant when claiming for prizes.

The promotion will be on till the end of January 2008 and lucky winners will be able to collect their prizes till 28th of February 2008.
