Delmege forays into auto market with Motul luricants


Delmege Automotive Products Ltd., (DAPL) a member of the Delmege Forsyth Group launched Motul automotive lubricants in the local market recently.

Motul has a complete range of lubricant oils and vehicle maintenance products and is a specialist manufacturer of high end synthetic oils, which was launched in Sri Lanka.

This marks the Delmege Group’s entry to the automotive sector said a spokesman for DAPL, and further stated that motor enthusiasts could look forward to a range of new and exciting products from the Company as a result of its partnership with Motul.

It was stated at the launch, that Motul, the world renowned lubricant was the first to offer a multi grade engine oil in 1953 and the first to create and launch a 100% synthetic ester based engine oil in 1971. Motul have several firsts to their credit and Delmege is indeed pleased to represent them stated a spokesman on behalf of the company.

Lubricants specialist Motul was the pioneer in the synthetic lubricants market, whilst being experts in racing product development. They have close links with bike manufacturers Suzuki and Yamaha, as well as sponsorship programmes with Suzuki, Yamaha and Subaru. Motul was also the first to offer a bio degradable 100% synthetic 2 stroke engine oil in 1972 and went on to produce the world’s first energy saving low viscosity grade oil in 1983. They then went on to produce the world’s first bio de- gradable 4 stroke engine oil in 1992 and have justifiably earned a reputation for being one of the most reputed as well as one of the world’s largest independent lubricant companies in the world, operating in more than 80 countries, with headquarters in France.

A member of the senior management from Motul France, who was in Sri Lanka for the launch, said that as one of the oldest and most trusted international lubricant brands, Motul was privileged to be represented in Sri Lanka by the Delmege Group, an organization, which had a 150 year old tradition of excellence.

He further stated that “Motul has an exclusive tie up with BOSCH in Europe and in fact we are the only lubricant brand in the BOSCH service network. We also have close associations with car OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) Suzuki, BMW, VW, Ferrari, Nissan, etc, while we have close ties with motorcycle OEMs worldwide including Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, etc. and co-branded engine oils with MBK in France”. He also said that Motul has the approvals of major commercial vehicle manufacturers MAN, Volvo, Scania, Leyland, Cummins and Mercedes Benz amongst others.

DAPL will distribute the entire Motul range via an island-wide distributor network; “however we will also market these products directly to a selected clientele” stated the spokesman for the company.

He also stated that, “The entire Motul range will be available including the car care / vehicle care products and we are confident of fast establishing Motul as the vehicle care brand of choice in the upmarket vehicle segment.”
