The amazing “Believe it or not!” promotion has been launched to gift its price conscious customers valuable savings during their Avurudhu spending spree this year.

Being a new player in the super marketing industry Magna is on a mission to offer something different and special to its customer. The supermarket chain was launched in December 2007, with an unusual brand, logo, signage and store outlook. It currently stocks the full range of supermarket products, and most notably offers a full range of brands to choose from , ranging from the well known popular brands to several new brands entering the market, thereby offering a wide choice of product as well as choice of price. The supermarket outlets which are currently situated mostly in residential, suburban areas also offer a personalized and friendly service to its customers.

Magna is owned and managed by Magna Supermarkets Limited which is a fully owned subsidiary of listed conglomerate, Kshatriya Holdings PLC who is also the controls listed entities, Kotmale Holdings PLC, First Capital Holdings PLC and Kelsey Developments PLC as well as several other companies in the garment finishing and export manufacturing sectors.

Kshatriya invested in the retailing industry through Magna supermarkets mainly due to increasing demand for supermarkets in Sri Lanka. In comparison to the increasing demand, the penetration of supermarkets in Sri Lanka remains low with many gaps in product and service offerings to customers, which Magna is aiming to fill. The company is confident that it would be able to leverage on the group’s strength’s to continuously offer its customers something special like the “believe it or not!” promotion.

Magna currently operates nine outlets situated in Koswatta, Pelawatta, Pita Kotte, Narahenpita, Kirulapone, Kiribathgoda, Dehiwala, Biyagama and Katubedde. Magna is also currently evaluating options for expansion of its chain.
