How would you like it if for 60 minutes, your favorite stars and
the most inspiring personalities of your country, could be your
fashion gurus, gossip buddies, shopping partners or Agony Aunts?
Unilever Sri Lankas leading beauty soap brand, Lux, has launched
the first ever talk show in Sri Lanka, Lux Ruwathi Uwathi,
which began telecasting on Swarnavahini every Sunday from April
6 between 7.00 and 8.00 pm.
This landmark show is the first on Sri Lankan TV to adopt a talk
show format. Created exclusively for women, Lux Ruwathi Uwathi,
will be hosted by a young woman who is definitely making her mark
in the entertainment industry - Charika Wanigasekera.
A young woman who radiates confidence and natural charisma, Charikas
approachable disposition and easy-going style of conversation is
set to add to the invitingly informal atmosphere of the show. Talking
enthusiastically about her new role Charika said I am delighted
with the opportunity to host this type of show Its
one of a kind in Sri Lanka and by sponsoring this show Lux and Unilever
are giving young women a much needed platform on which to express
their views and live out their dreams
The objective of the show is to encourage young women in Sri Lanka
to openly delve into the issues and events that mould their lifestyles
and drive their dreams and ambitions. Lux Ruwathi Uwathi will be
a space through which young women around the country can connect
with, and learn from each other.
Brand Manager for Lux at Unilever Sri Lanka, Wathsala Aluthgedara
believes the show will quickly become The voice of the trends,
icons and frontiers of Sri Lankas increasingly important and
influential population; Young Women! Lux, which has for over three
quarters of a century been associated as the glamorous soap of beauty
stars, will once again redefine the changing facets of young Sri
Lankan women.
The audience and special guests hosted on the show can exchange
ideas, share experiences and opinions on issues from beauty, fashion,
jewelry, wedding planning to life balance, financial independence
and confidence building.
The show will also feature a makeover segment that will invite participants
to have their looks transformed by connoisseurs in the beauty and
fashion industries; Ramani Fernando and Michael Wijesooriya. Participants
in this segment of the show stand the chance to be crowned the Lux
Ruwathi Uwathi in an SMS-based competition that will call
for votes from the general public.
