Emerald strengthens bonds with Japan in sourcing high quality fabric

Emerald International has been fusing style and fashion to serve its sophisticated customers for the last 50 years. This has resulted in them being able to secure a substantial share of the local market for high end fashion garments for men in addition to being the undisputed leader in the corporate shirt market.

In a resent letter sent by Noriyuki Kinugasa the Managing Director of Kinugasa Shoten Led, one of the largest fabric sourcing companies in Japan states “Emerald International is the single largest buyer of Japanese fabric in commercial quantities from Sri Lanka. As one of the largest traders of fabric dealing with the largest milling plants in Japan I can very confidently state that Emerald is the only company that has been purchasing such large quantities for over twenty years.”

Emerald has been sourcing fabric manufactured by Kageyama Company Ltd, which is one of the largest fabric mills in Nishiwaki Japan catering to exclusive international markets with high quality fabric.

Emerald International Executive Director M.M.M. Ihsan visits Japan once every two months and hand picks the fabric himself ensuring that the patterns and styles are in keeping with world fashion trends.

Kinugasa goes on to state that they have had no hesitation in dealing with Emerald International even though Sri Lanka is considered to be a high risk country to trade with, by the Japanese government. He also states that “with the volume of fabric that Emerald procures from us now, we will be in a position to cater to them exclusively and we will always strive to give them the total quantity of fabric in the colors and patterns that they require”.

Emerald imports fabric from Japan, Thailand and India to fulfill the market requirements and the exclusive Japanese fabric such as finest cotton, dobby, & linen fabrics are used for the top notch labels such as “Emerald Leonardo”, “Class One”, Flax Farmer and the major portion of “Emerald” range.
