Lankaputhra Development Bank steps up support for Micro, SMEs


Lankaputhra Developmant Bank (LDB) and Ministry of Science and Technology launched a joint program for Micro and SME Entrepreneurs in the country.

LDB is hoping to sign the MOU, with the Ministry, with regards to strengthening rural entrepreneurs, providing supportive services, to their business.

Vidhata Centres now in operation over 200 Divisional Secretariats, servicing technology transferring, provides information on marketing and management skills development of rural Micro SME entrepreneurs. LDB has decided that former SME Bank programmers, should continue after the merger completion.

LDB will contact all the divisional Vidhata centres, island wide for developing regional coverage, of the Banks’ extension services.

The first was programme introduced to the SNT officers of Vidhata, of the Hambanthota District, at the Lankaputhra Bank Auditorium, in Hambantota.
