Are
the numbers cooked up?
|
 |
| President
Mahinda Rajapaksa, who is also the Finance Minister, apparently
inquiring about statistics in the Central Banks 2007 Annual
Report, launched yesterday, from Governor Nivard Cabraal while
Treasury Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera (left) looks on. The
duo has been singled out by the Opposition for the weak state
of the economy and highest ever cost of living in the countrys
history through poor policies. However, the annual report reveals
a more positive picture of the economy including sound macro
economic and monetary policies pursued by the Treasury and Central
Bank. Pic by Nissanka Wijeratne. |
