Devendra clinches MCA mini-snooker title

Playing a calm and calculated game, unseeded Dinesh Devendra of AMW Lubricants beat third seed and favourite Thilak Champika of Seylan Bank by two frames to nil (64/34, 58/44) in the final of the Lankem-Robbialac sponsored, 6th MCA Mini Snooker Championships concluded at the MCA tables.

Runner-up, Thilak Champika made his presence felt when he eliminated the bottom seed, Milinda Mallikarachchi of Mackwoods in the semi-finals (46/32, 61/35).

Followed by the final, there was an exhibition performance by the reigning national champion K.H. Sirisoma which kept the spectators spellbound.

The tournament was conducted by the MCA Indoor Recreation Committee, headed by Lankem’s, Ameer Muthuwappa with the assistance of marker, M.C. Martis.

The awards were presented by the Chief Guest, Lankem Paint’s Business Manager, Ranjan Liyanage and MCA President, Tissa Madigasekera. An attractive congratulatory memento was presented to K.H. Sirisoma by the MCA immediate Past President, Adel Hashim.
