Eshan, Chamari star in win over Pakistan

A splendid all-round performance from 23-year-old Eshan Kaushalya enabled Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 45 runs in a second round match of the 4th Asian Women’s Cricket Championship played at the Welagedera Stadium, Kurunegala yesterday.

Put into bat first Sri Lanka Women were reduced to 118-6 before Kaushalya came on the scene to make a top score of 44 off 55 balls (5 fours) and help her team eventually reach a fighting total of 194-9 off 50 overs. The damage to the Sri Lankan batting was done by Pakistan Women’s skipper who spun her leg-breaks viciously to capture four wickets for 31. Full story
