Battle for Eastern CM post hots up

“It is our right. Pillaiyan should get it” says TMVP spokesman; Hizbullah insists he deserves it; Muslim MPs appeal to Mahinda

As the battle for the east’s top niche ensued, the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP) stuck to its guns and insisted that the post of Chief Minister (CM) should be given to its CM candidate Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, alias Pillaiyan, because it rightfully belonged to him. Not to be outdone, M.H.M Hizbullah claimed that it is a position that rightfully belongs to him.

TMVP spokesman Azad Moulana told The Bottom Line that Pillaiyan had obtained more votes in comparison to ‘anyone else’ and thus the post of CM should be rightfully given to Pillaiyan. Full story
