The
illuminated view of the rebuilt Arugam Bay bridge, which
is a symbol of friendly ties between Sri Lanka and the
United States. The bridge was destroyed by the December
2004 tsunami and was rebuilt using US$ 10 million (Over
Rs. 1 billion) from the United States Agency for International
Development (USAID). It was ceremonially opened by President
Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday.
