Captains focus on the importance of Test cricket

India’s inaugural media conference at the Taj Samudra yesterday on their tour of Sri Lanka for a series of three Tests and five one-day internationals centered around the importance of Test cricket to which the opinions of the two Test captains Mahela Jayawardene and Anil Kumble and one past captain Arjuna Ranatunga were sought.

Indian Test captain Anil Kumble said: “Test cricket is here to stay and players really feel privileged to be a part of Test cricket.
