India jolts Lanka again

National Security Advisor Narayanan opines even if Army wins the battle against LTTE, he isn’t sure it will win the war; Alleges Government hasn’t got the Tamil population on its side

India has warned Sri Lanka that it may not be able to win an ongoing war against the LTTE, despite recent military gains, a report said yesterday.

Indian National Security Advisor M.K. Narayanan told the Straits Times that the LTTE had been weakened but it retained the ability to stage terror strikes.

“Our argument is: unless you give Tamils a feeling they have the right to their own destiny in many matters, you will not succeed. (The) LTTE’s capacity to carry out terrorist attacks is not diminished,” he said.

Seylan Bank strikes deal with Korea Exchange Bank

Partnership to provide special remittance service for Lankan migrant workers

Seylan Bank entered into a business co-operation agreement with Korea Exchange Bank (KEB), to provide a special and an unparallel remittance service to Sri Lankan migrant workers.

Korea Exchange Bank is the leading Bank in Korea which provides specialized services for migrant workers. As per the co-operation agreement reached, the Korea Exchange Bank will offer remittance services through their 326 branch network and over 9,000 ATM outlets.

Sri Lankan migrant workers to Korea can now enrol with this scheme through Seylan Bank’s office at the Foreign Employment Bureau and enjoy a host of remittance services jointly offered by the Seylan Bank and Korea Exchange Bank.
