Mano denies LTTE connection

Says he is ready to face any court of law or TID as he is innocent of such charges

By Kushali Atukorale
The Leader of Western People’s Front (WPF) and Convener of Civil Monitoring Commission against Disappearance (CMC) Mano Ganeshan, while denying the allegations about his connection with the LTTE, reminded the Government of its own connections with the LTTE.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Ganeshan said that it was Basil Rajapaksa and late Jeyaraj Fernandopulle who insisted on him making a connection between the Government and the LTTE in year 2005, although Ganeshan denied helping them as it was against his conscience.

“I never agreed to their demand, as I wanted all the nationalities to be together and respect one another, instead of discriminating against each other on religion, creed or caste. Our presence in this world is temporary therefore why to fight with one another?,” Ganeshan asked.

He also pointed out that it was the former President Chandrika Kumaratunga who wanted him to inform the LTTE Leader Prabakaran not to discontinue the peace talks, although she was ready to provided security to Karuna Amman who parted from the LTTE due to some internal crisis.
