opened Regina Margherita is all about.
Throwing open its doors and heart to Sri Lanka, Regina
Margherita on Park Road, Colombo 5, is not a 5 star
restaurant, but a 5 star Italian Trattoria, a place
that is so common in Italy, steeped in homely ambience
where the curious wanderers generally wander in to,
to have an appetizing meal from the vast selection of
Italian dishes. This is precisely what Regina Margherita
aims to achieve.
Dreamt up and executed by the Italian owner Barbara
Avossa, Regina Margherita projects an ambience every
bit as tasteful as the food. Interestingly, there is
a unique way of selecting your food. The blackboard,
with the menu written on it, will change according to
what is obtainable fresh from the local markets or imported
from Italy. “My focus is to get only the freshest
of ingredients, so dishes will change accordingly. I
have always dreamt of bringing a little bit of my country
to Sri Lanka and it must be the best.”
