Special Committee to discuss ‘Minor’ Ministries’ Budgetary matters

A Special Committee was appointed to discuss Budgetary matters of “Minor” Ministries at the party leaders meeting yesterday.

This committee will discuss the Budgetary matters of these Ministries without taking ‘discussion time’ at the Committee stage.

The results of the discussions at the Committee will be presented to Parliament on the specific day reserved for that ministry. “The Committee will comprise of 31 MPs, 16 from the Government and 15 from the Opposition parties,” said a Parliamentary source.

This step was taken considering the security of Parliamentary members and, unlike other occasions, Parliament will not be meeting on Saturdays. The sessions will be held from Monday to Friday from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.
