Business tycoon Nahil Wijeyasuriya, who never runs out of start up ideas as well as strategic acquisitions which he disposes at a profit, last week launched another venture a new radio and TV station in style.

His East West Group floated a new subsidiary Peoples’ Media Network, whose Radio 1 and TV 2 began broadcasting from this week.

Nahil’s venture marks his return to the electronic media after his launch of ETV, which at that time was Sri Lanka’s first 24-hour TV station.

The investment in the new venture is estimated to be around Rs. 120 million.
