ICRC staffer shot dead

By Nabiha Ariff
An employee of the International Commi tee of the Red Cross (ICRC) was shot dead by an unidentified gang yesterday morning in Jaffna. The man identified as Sundaralingam Gangadharan, 32, worked as a driver at ICRC office in Jaffna.

The shooting occurred at Temple Road, Jaffna, near the Nallur Kovil.
ICRC is working with the authorities to ascertain the reasons behind this sudden attack. ICRC Information Officer, Sarashi Wijeratne, told The Bottom Line that ICRC has not yet been able to decipher the reason behind this shooting.

“Our thoughts, at the moment, are with his family and we will soon probe into this incident further,” she said.
