Standard Chartered Bank partners with Asia Miles

Standard Chartered Bank is pleased to announce the partnership agreement with Asia Miles to offer its Gold Credit Cardholders even more redemption options on their Bonus Points programme. Cardholders can now convert their Bonus Points to Asia Miles.

“We are delighted to partner with Asia Miles. Cardholders can now earn Asia Miles on their day to day purchases with the Standard Chartered Gold Credit Card. Asia Miles has numerous items available for redemption. Members can choose from flights & holiday packages to electronic items and lifestyle awards. We are confident that this will be much appreciated by our cardholders as it enhances the value proposition of the Bonus Points programme. We believe in being the right partner to our customers and this is yet another initiative in rewarding our Cardholders,” commented General Manager, Retail Banking Products, Sheahan Arasaratnam.

The bank’s Bonus Points programme offers true value to cardholders and has gained much popularity in the market. Every Rs100/- spent on purchases both locally and overseas is rewarded with one Bonus Point. Cardholders have the privilege of earning one full rupee for every Bonus Point earned. Now with the addition of Asia Miles, Standard Chartered Gold Cardholders can opt to redeem the accumulated bonus points for Asia Miles. One Bonus point will equal One Asia Mile.

Asia Miles is Asia’s leading Travel Reward Programme and has more than 300 partners worldwide in nine partner categories: airlines, finance & insurance, hotels, telecoms, cars & transport, retail, dining, travel & leisure as well as professional services.

“Asia Miles has been working with Standard Chartered for many years and in over five countries. We are delighted to extend this partnership to Sri Lanka which will offer Standard Chartered Gold Credit Cardholders yet another option for earning and redeeming Bonus Points. I’m sure with the ease of earning Asia Miles and given our wide range of 400 redemption items available for redemption, cardholders will be very pleased,” said Paul Loo, General Manager, Asia Miles

Gold Credit Cardholders who are already Asia Miles members can convert their Bonus Points simply by calling the 24-hour customer service hotline on 2480480 and quoting their Asia Miles membership number. Conversions for Asia Miles can be done in multiples of 2500 Bonus Points. Gold Cardholders who are not yet members of Asia Miles can also opt in for this service simply by enrolling online at www.asiamiles.com, obtaining a membership number and then requesting for a transfer of Bonus points to Asia Miles.

Redemption options of Asia Miles include: flights, hotel & holiday packages, wine & dine, leisure & sport, electronics & accessories, household and other merchandise, gifts, flowers & hampers, car rental & transportation, health & beauty and special events.

In addition to redemption of Bonus Points for Asia Miles, Standard Chartered Cardholders will continue to enjoy the privilege of redeeming their Bonus Points at a range of participating establishments including ODEL, Arpico Super Centers & Superstores, Hameedia, Mondi, Addidas, NOLIMIT, Beverly Street, Exclusive Lines, Stone N String, selected restaurants at the Hilton Colombo, Trans Asia, Cinnamon Grand, The Mango Tree, 168 Seafood Palace, Pizza Hut, Angsana City Club & spa, The Sanctuary Spa, Alpha Orient, Vijitha Yapa, Triumph etc. Additionally Cardholders could even use the Bonus Points they earn to help a less fortunate person enjoy the gift of sight by donating them to Standard Chartered Bank’s ‘Seeing is Believing” project.
