Another reputed event of International stature scheduled this year is the 23rd Asia Area Convention of Ys Men International, says GM- Sri Lanka Convention Bureau, Vipula Wanigasekera. The event is scheduled from July 31 to August 2, 2009, in Colombo. Registration will be online and can be accessed from www.srilankaysmen.org. SriLankan Airlines has been designated the official carrier for the event.

A parallel Youth Convocation will be held at the same time in Mt. Lavinia, and an International Council Meeting in Wadduwa. The highlight of the agenda is the installation of Area President Dr Chon Byung-koo for the year 2009/2010. International President Kevin Cummins too, would be at the Convention. Two special features will be the opportunity afforded to delegates to conduct devotions in their own language, at various times during the event and the conducting of the Sunday morning service at the Church next door to the venue.
